This recipe uses a touch of bourbon and cinnamon to add some depth of flavor and interesting notes to the cranberry sauce. This cranberry sauce recipe is a little tart, to make sure it doesn't overpower the dish it's being served with if you like your cranberry sauce sweeter use a 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Cranberry sauce is also a good way to make those leftover turkey sandwiches shine, just spread a little on top and your good to go.
Start by giving the cranberries a quick wash and adding them to a pot on medium heat. Add in the maple syrup, brown sugar, orange zest, and cinnamon stick. Stir everything as the cranberries start to open up.
Once the cranberries have all opened up, turn the heat down to a low simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
