A Perfect Manhattan
The Perfect Manhattan gets its name from the equal amounts of sweet and dry vermouth in it. It’s also no surprise that a drink recipe named after Manhattan would have a variation that calls itself perfect.
A Perfect Manhattan is a great choice for anyone who thinks regular Manhattans are a touch too sweet. Like all Manhattans, this cocktail is better stirred than shaken. We prefer to garnish our Perfect Manhattans with a lemon twist, instead of a cherry, to compliment the dry vermouth.
- 2 oz rye whiskey
- 1/2 oz sweet vermouth
- 1/2 oz dry vermouth
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- lemon twist
- Pour the rye and both vermouths into a large glass with ice.
- Add two dashes of Angostura bitters and stir it long enough to get everything nice and cold.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Add a twist of lemon.
