The Big Ginger is a delicious cocktail that combines a good, crisp Irish whiskey with the refreshing taste of ginger ale.

To lighten our Big Ginger Cocktail recipe up and to add some citrus notes we use both lemon and lime wedges.

Ice In Glass
Start with a little ice and a squeeze of lemon and lime

This is one of our favorite ginger ale cocktails, it’s a drink we like to have keep us company on Saint Patrick’s Day or to sip on hot summer days when we want to drink all day, but don’t want to act like we’ve been drinking all day.

In our, somewhat, extensive testing, we found the best ratio is 1/3 whiskey to 2/3 ginger ale. We also figured out that the drink gets better with really good ginger ale, so mix it with your favorite.

Whiskey In Glass
Admire the whiskey as you fill the glass

And while we like to drink it with any good Irish whiskey, it really should be mixed with Two Gingers Irish Whiskey, since the cocktail and the whiskey were both developed by Kieran Folliard, the former proprietor of Kieren’s Irish Pub in Minneapolis.

Topping With Ginger Ale
Top everything off with some ginger ale

This is an easy cocktail recipe to make by the pitcher. Depending on the size of the pitcher, just adjust the serving size in the recipe below to match the number of drinks you want to make.
