We Unveil our Brand New Website, Smoke Some Tender Pork Ribs, and Munch on a Few Crispy Chicken Wings

Smoking Pork Ribs

By Mark Hinds | Updated January 28, 2025

We have some big news. We recently launched a brand new Umami! Over the past four months, we rebuilt the entire site from the ground up, updating hundreds of recipes, stories, and products to create a more intuitive Umami focused on providing our readers a great experience.

The all new Umami is a lot like the $6 Million dollar man โ€œbetter…stronger…fasterโ€ than before. Over the next few months, we’ll highlight some of its new features.

New Features

To help people find old favorites and brand new things weโ€™ve added a cool new feature to all of the category, recipe, and search pages that lets readers pick and choose what theyโ€™re looking for using a combination of dishes, cuisines, and ingredients. Have some chicken around the house, looking for a new dinner recipe, plug them into the page and youโ€™ll get all of our chicken dinner recipes.

Weโ€™ve also made it easier for readers to engage with our content and each other by revamping the comments section and encouraging people who are making recipes from Umami to post pictures of their creations on Instagram and tagging us at @umami.site and under the hashtag #umami_site.

Weโ€™re planning on sharing a few of our favorites, in upcoming Umami Bites, like this comment from Rose about our Buffalo Burgersโ€œMy husband and I both thought these were the best burgers weโ€™ve had in quite a while. They were tasty and moist.โ€

On to the Food

For us, the pinnacle of great BBQ is smoked ribs that are tender and juicy on the inside with a nice crisp bark on the outside. Weโ€™ve spent years figuring out the best way to smoke ribs, how to season them to highlight their natural flavors, and most importantly how to finish them – all of which is encapsulated in our completely revamped Smoked Pork Ribs recipe.

Whether youโ€™re making a Fatherโ€™s day feast this weekend or just spending some time cooking with fire weโ€™ve got a few of our favorite summer recipes including a perfectly Grilled RibeyeLamb Burgers topped with creamy goat cheese and grilled shallots, a tangy Rhubarb Cake with a beautiful crumb, and the Bees Knees, which is the beeโ€™s knees of summer cocktails.

When you get a chance, please take a look at the new site and let us know what you think!

Thanks as always for reading and sharing Umami.  We greatly appreciate it!

Sincerely,

Mark Hinds
